About Brown-Horne / Janis-Nantais
Please sign in to see more.
ATTENTION ® ANY SURNAME WHERE THIS SYMBOL > ® IS PRESENT HAS BEEN ADDED TO THIS TREE STRICTLY AS A RESEARCH TOOL. DO NOT CONSIDER IT AS ACCURATE ! THESE ENTRIES ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS ! ! !

My BROWN and HORNE families emigrated from SCOTLAND to CANADA, at different times and to different provinces. My parents were the first of my direct lines to emigrate to the USA. Lore's JANULEVICUS (JANIS) and NANTAIS families emigrated from Lithuania, England and Canada to the USA. They arrived at different times yet It was here, in OUR homeland, that the merger began. It was here that families, from such a diverse background, grew closer, and in doing so expanded the "Family Tree". Because this is a work in progress, it will change when facts become evident, with enough proof to necessitate that change. Because I believe in working in the periphery of family histories, much of my information may appear questionable and as the "rule" says, always question that which does not look right". In any event, you owe it to all people within all the family names that each of us represent to contact me if you have comments or change requests. It is our hope that you will find hope, satisfaction, inspiration and renewal within this site. Please visit often as additions will be added as often as possible to eventually offer all of the information we have. At the very least, our information goes from the present to the landing of the Mayflower, and possibly to Braveheart, or rather his family line.

                                                            > > > MAJOR ERROR found, June 15, 2014 < < <
PLEASE DO N O T ! ! ! take any Diman/Dimont/ Dimond information, or information regarding peripheral families
such as POTTER, DeWOLF, HOWE, CODMAN OR COLT, found here as accurate. Because of name repetition in
families, I have messed up some names and / or dates. Most of it will prove to be correct but SOME names (spouses)
or dates (children/parents) are wrong. I sincerely apologize for this goof, it WILL be corrected shortly. 6/15/14 &
7/2/2014..............................................
( UPDATE = = 1/7/14) MAJOR CHANGE in my beliefs and ideas because of a search I did today. While seeking a ,
yet serious lead to one of MY ancestors I discovered a proven connection to Lorena's ancestors (STONE)
here in RI. I will begin preparing the necessary corrections and additions to her part of our tree over the next month.
This must be done with utmost care as it is a major find. Lore' and I may be distant cousins as well as husband and
wife.
( Update = = 315/13 NEW Family tree >> for research. Today I am starting a new try at one avenue of research.
In an attempt to study, correlate and keep separate from my main fam. tree, information needing to be searched but
aside from proven lines. This is a new idea to me but one that needs to be checked. This entire family may be
removed in the future if the believed possible connection does not prove to be sound. Wish me luck.

2016.....A New Beginning ! The destination remains the same, but the journey has changed. 2015 was good and BAD. TwO
major changes will definitely effect this site. The major loss was the passing of my loving Wife Lorena [ Lorè ] ( JANIS ) BROWN.
Secondly is my diagnosis of Macular Degeneration ( the thief of sight) , not the choice of a genealogical researcher. As stated, a
new beginning. The road is the same but the trip has changed. It will be followed in ernest as long as possible. One major
change MY PLEA, IF you visit this site and feel we may truly share common ancestors, DO NOT DELAY, Please Contact Me ASAP.
to all, good huting !

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.

Because of recent finds in my Ancestry, I recommend contacting me before taking any of the information at this site as `gospel`. Thanks Bob.
